Elevated Cotswolds Dining in Relaxed Atmosphere

Welcome to The Burleigh at Burleigh Court, an atmospheric oak-panelled restaurant in a Grade II listed Cotswolds 18th Century manor. We serve a locally sourced, two-rosette menu with beautiful views over the Cotswolds hills. The Burleigh is one of the nicest places to eat in and around Stroud.

The Burleigh offers a reimagined Cotswolds cuisine that blends sustainability with authenticity. Our food is honest, deeply satisfying, and offers great value for money. We pride ourselves on elevated, two-rosette dining in a relaxed and unpretentious setting, boasting stunning panoramic views across the Stroud Five Valleys.

Indulge in authentic local flavours at The Burleigh, where we celebrate the best ‘farm to fork’ ingredients and ‘garden to table’ produce each season has to offer. Our meats are sourced locally from Gloucestershire and Wiltshire farms, with lamb coming from small producers in Monmouth and the Slad Valley. The Cotswolds larder is brimming with artisan products, and sourcing locally is our passion.

Prepare for a culinary experience that tingles your taste buds in our cosy atmosphere. We embrace the ‘farm to fork’ and ‘garden to plate’ concepts, prioritising local sourcing. Our kitchen gardener forages and harvests fresh ingredients daily from our very own garden. Local farms and producers deliver, sometimes twice daily, within a 35-mile radius of the hotel.

While some acclaim our Sunday Roasts as the best in the area, and others praise our desserts in and around Stroud, tastes may vary. However, we cook with care and aim to deliver an unforgettable experience with outstanding service. Feel at home with us, as there is no formal dress code.

Discover our Tasting Menus every Friday and Saturday. These well-priced, 7-course menus celebrate local ingredients cooked to perfection. We offer matching wine flights, and the menu changes weekly.

Our kitchen team is led by Head Chef Shaun Jones, a passionate advocate for local food and seasonal recipes. Having worked with the Calcot Collection and as the head chef at the Bell of Sapperton, Shaun joined us in 2019. He sources ingredients within 35 miles, focusing on native British breeds. Our organic, free-range chickens, grass-fed beef, lamb, venison, and game come from neighbouring estates. Shaun creates seasonal menus that fuse classic regional recipes with modern culinary trends. His ‘Nose to Tail’ approach adheres to the rural British tradition of utilising various parts of the animal, minimising food waste.

We’re open for morning coffee, all day grazing and light lunch, afternoon tea, dinner and Sunday lunch. All welcome!
