Wild Foodie Foraging
Set in the midst of the uncrowded Cotswolds in an area of natural outstanding beauty, Burleigh Court is an ideal location for wild foodie foraging
Friday 24 June | 23 July | 27 August | 24 September | 15 October
9am – 3pm including wild food lunch
Join a wild foodie foraging experience and discover the wonderful world of wild food around Burleigh Court. A professional forager will help you learn how to safely ID edible species and come away with lots of ideas for turning your foraged bounty into scrumptious meals.
During the wild foodie foraging experiences, which last around three hours, we will be identifying, picking and eating a number of delicious edibles that present themselves along the way. There will be discussion around seasonal eating and the nutritional values and medicinal use of plants. We will also look at the conservation of species and their habitats, what to take and what to leave. And of course, there’s use and storage of wild food, delicious recipes and lots, lots more.
The group meets in the hotel lounge for an introduction over coffee or tea followed by a foraging walk and wild food lunch back at the hotel prepared by head chef Shaun.
Bring a flask of hot water with you to make your own herby tea as we forage leaves, flowers etc when we’re outside.
Timing: 6 hours including introduction, foraging and wild lunch.
